News Release from the Chatham Seventh-day Adventist Church Pastor and Board for the period starting March 14, 2020.
Due to COVID-19, all church services are currently running online via the zoom platform.

At this time, the Ontario Conference of Seventh-day Adventist is not recommending the cancellation of church services. However, we suggest that you refer to the most recent gathering advisory for your local area.
- Gatherings over 20 suspended.
- Advise those 65 and over as well as those with compromised immune systems or underlying medical conditions to stay home.
- Church will begin at 09:30 am and will end no later than 11:30 am. We will limit preliminaries and condense the worship service to no longer than two hours total.
- We are going to suspend the evening meetings.
- Social Distancing. We strongly recommend members/visitors avoid handshakes and hugging, as well as maintaining a reasonable distance from other individuals. If they have recently travelled abroad, or are feeling ill, they should stay home.
- We advise the members to sit in a spaced format on alternate benches.
- Small groups, close up discussions, such as SS classes for children, should be avoided. (Sabbath School to be led from the pulpit as one class)
- Church Potlucks. We are temporarily going to suspend church potlucks and other fellowship meals.
- Offerings The offering plate/bag will not be passed from person to person. Offerings should be dropped into the receptacle. The treasury staff should use disposable latex gloves when counting money.
- Use the Adventist Online Giving App since many members may choose to stay home, so that members can worship God in giving, even if they cannot be physically present.
- The Pastor and the Elders are available for the needs of the members. Please use their cell phone numbers, Facebook Messenger, Zoom, email or WhatsApp to contact them.
- Communion Service is postponed until further notice.
- Baptisms are postponed until further notice.
- Public Evangelistic Meetings are postponed until further notice.
- Community Outreach is temporarily suspended for all church group visits and outreach activities in senior home facilities and hospitals.
- All Pathfinder and Adventurer Club meetings and outings are temporarily cancelled. Follow along on their Facebook pages for assignment that can be done at home.
- Deacons and Janitorial staff will frequently clean door handles and other commonly used contact surfaces with disinfectant.
